The new Civic model was introduced with a BS6-compliant engine in India last year while the diesel engine was still compliant with BS4.

The carmaker is now expected to introduce the Civic next week with a BS6-compliant diesel engine. Powering the BS6 Honda Civic diesel will be an revised 1.6-liter engine that is offered in combination with a manual six-speed transmission. It’s the same engine driving the BS4 model and bringing out 118 bhp and 300 Nm. Honda Civic diesel will look the same as its petrol version and even the feature list will remain the same — 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, 7-inch TFT MID (multi-information display) for instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control system, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, 8-way driver seat, remote engine starter, sunroof, etc.
